Fundamentals of Great Warehouse Management

Warehouse Management

In this article, we will be taking a closer look at the importance of how a warehouse is managed.

If I were interviewing housekeepers to clean my home, I wouldn’t hire one whose home looked like a hoarder’s. I apply the same logic to asking a warehouse to store my materials. I would look closely at the following areas:

  1. Do they do daily cleaning, such as sweeping?
  2. Are the floors clean?
  3. Do I see evidence of rodents or pests?
  4. Is there evidence, such as a log book, of pest control services?
  5. Does the office appear clean and tidy?

These might seem inconsequential, but ask yourself, “If they don’t care for their warehouse, how well will they care for my products?” In my experience, the little things matter. Cleanliness is an integral part of safety, and it also reflects the level of service you can expect from the company.

You will probably receive better care if you pick a company that holds itself to a higher standard.
